Roger Draughn

Mr. Roger Dale Draughn, age 74, of Dobson, NC passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.  He was born in Surry County on October 14, 1946 to the late Johnny Clifford Draughn and the late Christine Gammons Draughn.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Beane Draughn; sisters, Frances Leftwich, Mary Lou Hall, Jackie Shinault; brothers, Clifford Draughn, Johnny Wayne Draughn.  He was a Veteran of the US Marines, a retired carpenter, and attended Dobson First Baptist Church.  Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Roger Dale Draughn II and Amanda Draughn; granddaughter, Sophia Presley Draughn; sisters and brother-in-law, Juanita Edwards, Zettie and Carl Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Shelby Draughn.  A graveside will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Dobson City Cemetery, with full Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. Rev Cory Honeycutt will officiate the service.  The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, May 14, 2021, from 1:00 PM until time to go to the cemetery.  Due to COVID restrictions, the family requests all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.
