Roger Dale Greer

Mr. Roger Dale Greer, 62, of Ararat, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born May 25, 1948, in McDowell, WV, to the late Horace Paul and Vada Wingler Greer. Mr. Greer was a mechanic for Blue Bird and Willard Cab Company and a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are three sisters, Betty Sue Canter of Lexington, Madeline Goodman of Anawalt, WV, and Edith Meredith of Ararat; and a brother, Bruce Edward Greer of Anawalt, WV. In addition to his parents, Mr. Greer was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Ann Greer; and two brothers, Delmer Dean Greer and Bobby Joe Greer. A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Meredith Family Cemetery in Ararat, with the Rev. Robbie Vance officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
