Roger Lee Upchurch

Mr. Roger Lee Upchurch, 66, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at his home. He was born in Carroll County on November 4, 1946 to the late Early and Nellie Kirby Upchurch. Mr. Upchurch was retired from Save-A-Lot Food Store as a manager and was a charter member of Friendly Tabernacle. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Chad Brown of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Dana Upchurch of Belews Creek; six grandchildren, Amanda and husband Mitchell, Taylor and wife Bre, Sarah, Kristin, Bailee, and Rebekah; three great grandchildren, Emma, Ellie, and Will; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Phillip Edmonds, Carolyn and Jimmy Hodges all of Mt. Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Billie Upchurch of Collinsville, VA., Michael and Terri Upchurch of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Upchurch was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Edmonds Upchurch; a brother, Gleathern Upchurch. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Clement officiating. Burial will follow in Edwards-Upchurch Family Cemetery.
