Roger Allen White

Mr. Roger Allen White, 59, husband of Doris "Frosty" White, passed away at his home on Thursday June 21, 2007 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on April 22, 1948 to the late Abe Phillip and Nannie Brindle White. Mr. White was retired from Westinghouse as an Operations Manager and was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served our country during the Vietnam War. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of thirty-two years, "Frosty" Chaney White of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert Drew and Emily White and Jonathan Patrick and Tiffany Myres all of Elkin; a precious grandson, Kendall Blake White; a brother and sister-in-law, Gray and Linda White; a sister and brother-in-law Jackie and Bro. Don Ball all of Elkin. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertie Lou Rose and Mabel Gordon; two brothers, Cecil White and DeWitt White. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Stone, Rev. Tim Burton and Rev. Van Brindle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mtn. Post 9436. The family will receive friends at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:00 pm until time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Shannon, Candi, Carol and Stephanie of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care; the many friends, neighbors and loved ones and to a special sister-in-law, "Andy" for all the love and kindness shown to the family during their difficult time.
