Roger V. White

Mr. Roger V. White, 64, of Dobson, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born July 20, 1946, in Surry County, to Raynell Fowler White Shields and the late Marvin C. White. He was a retired electrician and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Surviving are his two daughters and a son-in-law, Samantha Hendrix of Winston-Salem and Autumn and Tracy Edwards of Pilot Mountain,; two step-daughters, Monique and Michaele; three grandchildren, Kristena Hendrix, Ashlyn Edwards, and Caleb Edwards; six step-grandchildren; his mother, Raynell Fowler White Shields of Winston-Salem; and a brother and sister-in-law, Billy C. and Carolyn White of Dobson. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 2, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Brother Mickey Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 172 Liberty Church Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
