Roland Grady Adams

Mr. Roland Grady Adams, 87, of 302 Charlie Norman Road, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Golden Living Center-Surry Community. Mr. Adams was born October 17, 1921, in Surry County, to the late Aquilla Porter and Alice McGee Adams. He was a farmer and retired from Spencer's Inc. Mr. Adams was also a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Jerry Adams and Michael William Adams, both of Mount Airy; a granddaughter, Lorrie Nicole Adams of Mount Airy; a sister, Ruth Carrico of Hopewell, VA; three nieces, Carolyn Adams, Faye Bailey, and Anita Hardy; three nephews, Ricky Carrico, Marty Carrico, and Robert Adams; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Creed Adams; and two brothers, Gaston Adams and Weldon Adams. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 1, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Don Fellows officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
