Roland Homer Smith

Mr. Roland Homer Smith age 82 of 301 West Oakdale Street, Mt. Airy, NC widower of Mrs. Ocile Lineback Smith passed away Saturday morning, August 5, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born August 11, 1923 in Surry County, NC to the late Daniel Moses and Trusta Gentry Smith. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II. Mr. Smith was a retired supervisor with Amos and Smith Hosiery, and was a member of Grace Moravian Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and John Martin, Mt. Airy, NC, Sarah and David R. Fisher, Jr., Albermarle,. NC, four grandchildren and three spouses, SSG(P). Robert and Cristy Stephens, Stuttgart, Germany, Brandon Stephens, Statesville, NC, Allison and Rev. Sam Neal, Griffin, GA, Jason and Amie Pinion, Aquadale, NC, four great grandchildren, Ethen Pinion, Aquadale, NC Kaela Stephens, Everett WA, Dylan and Hannah Stephens, Stuttgart, Germany. Gravesides services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at God's Acre conducted by Rev. Tim Byerly. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM Tuesday at Grace Moravian Church until time for Mr. Smith to be carried to God's Acre for the graveside service.
