Mr. Rome Pierce Spence, 64, of 1474 Old Fulp Road, Danbury, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009, at Stokes Reynolds Hospital in Danbury. He was born April 25, 1944, in Hillsville, VA, to the late Ralph and Mazie Stuttler Spence. He was a self-employed dry wall installer and attended the King Christian Center. Surviving are his wife, Christine Palluotto Spence of the home; three daughters, Terri Tucker and husband, Terrell, of Mount Airy, Sabrina Edwards and Larry Roberts of King, and Angel Gwyn and husband, Tyrone, of Mount Airy; three sons, Michael Baldwin and friend, Dolly, of Stuart, VA, Shannon Spence and wife, Chanh, of Charlottesville, VA, and Christopher Spence and Angela, of Dobson; a step-son, Brian Whicher and wife, Bonnie, of Tavares, FL; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Riegel and Beulah Farmer, both of Sylvatus, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Wendy Jones. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at 2:00 PM at King Christian Center, conducted by the Rev. Randall Smith and the Rev. Rickie Brewer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the King Christian Center Food Pantry, 995 Brown Road, King, NC 27021.
