Rommie "Pete" Bowman

Mr. Rommie Wade “Pete” Bowman, 78, of Pinnacle, NC, passed away on Saturday morning, June 5, 2021, at 12 Oaks Assisted Living in Mount Airy. He was born in Stokes County, on January 6, 1943, to the late Jacob Howard Bowman and Mytrice Elizabeth Marshall Bowman. Pete was a self-employed farmer, carpenter, and a jack-of-all-trades for many years. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Kattie Owens Bowman of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Wesley Hensley, and Kathy and James Long; a son, Randall Wade Bowman; two grandsons, Michael Hensley, and Robert Lee Smith; a granddaughter, Nevaeh Long; four sisters, Peggy B. Marion, Carolyn B. Watson and husband Larry, Terry Baer and husband Michael, and Debby Messick and husband Bo; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Gerald Robertson. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Clint Smith; and a brother, Roby Wayne Bowman. There are no formal services planned for Pete at this time. The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to 12 Oaks and all his caretakers for all the love and care given to Pete during his illness. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Bowman family.
