Mr. Romney Cornelius Noah, 92, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Noah was born December 30, 1914, in Surry County, to the late King David and Arminda Hiatt Noah. He was a retired stone cutter from North Carolina Granite Corporation and a member of Mount Airy Church of God. Most importantly, Romney was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Della Poteat Noah of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Rebecca Noah of High Point, Floyd Noah of Greensboro, and Randall and Luenell Noah of Mount Airy; three grandchildren and a spouse, Vanessa Noah of High Point, Kim and Van Hood of Greensboro, and David Noah of Sacramento, CA; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Hood of Greensboro. In addition to his parents, Mr. Noah was preceded in death by four sisters, Louisa Cook, Violet Collins, Eva Gammons, and Lemora King; a half-sister, Myrtle Collins; and a half-brother, Coy Scott. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 10, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Brother Lee Boyette and the Rev. Wallace Gibson. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
