Mr. Ronald Ray Williams, 82, of Ararat, passed away Saturday evening, October 15, 2016, at his home. Mr. Williams was born June 29, 1934, in Jefferson, OH, the son of the late Lester Roosevelt and Opal Mayone Curtis Williams. Ronald was a self-employed general contractor and a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Elaine Turner Williams of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Okie Ramey of Ararat; a son, Ronald E. Williams of Hatfield, England; a daughter-in-law, Sally Barnes of Doncaster, England; two grandsons, Derek C. Ramey and his wife, Shawna, of Ararat and Evan Williams of Doncaster, England; a granddaughter, Rhianna Williams of Doncaster, England; a great-grandson, Emmett Kelly of Ararat; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alpha J. Parmley of Ashtabula, OH, and Kathy and Tom Watts of Jefferson, OH; a sister-in-law, Bessie Gillispie of Geneva, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert L. Williams, Esker E. Williams, and Roy E. Williams; and his grandparents, Louis and Alma Jones Curtis and Willard and Fannie Bays Williams. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Blackwater United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ted Turman and the Rev. Roxanne Cuff officiating. Burial will follow at The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Blackwater United Methodist Church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
