Ronnie Dale Short

Mr. Ronnie Dale Short, 55, of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007, at his home. Mr. Short was born July 4, 1952, in Surry County, to George Franklin Short, Sr. and Bessie Elizabeth Sutphin Short. Ronnie was a loving brother and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. Surviving are four sisters and a brother-in-law, June and John Shackelford, Judy Collins, and Sharon Thomas, all of Mt. Airy, and Bootsie Reagin of Dugspur, VA; two brothers, George Franklin Short, Jr. of Alaska and Gregory Short of Minneapolis, MN; a special family friend, Steve Johnston; and Ronnie's dog. Curly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Short was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas Short and Ray Short; a nephew, Todd Ross; and a brother-in-law, Jack Reagin. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. George Walter Walker and the Rev. Garland Hall. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
