Rosa Virginia Sexton Creed

Mrs. Rosa Virginia Sexton Creed, 77, of 681 Old Creed Road, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Creed was born March 22, 1934, in Grayson County, VA, the daughter of the late John and Effie Mae Puckett Sexton. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. Mrs. Creed was a member of Dover Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Elbert Franklin Creed of the home; a daughter, Alejandrina Munguia of Mount Airy; a son, Sonny Lee Hernandez of Mount Airy; two granddaughters, Angela Cruz and Rosa K. Hernandez, both of Mount Airy; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Mecie Sexton of Pilot Mountain, Raymond and Naomi Sexton of Alvarado, TX, and David and Marla Sexton of Covington, TX. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam Sexton, Herbert Sexton, and John Chapman Sexton. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Bill Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
