Rosetta Parker Morrison

Mrs. Rosetta Wright Parker Morrison, 91, of Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning, September 15, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Morrison was born May 8, 1927, in Wythe County, VA, one of ten children born to the late Madison Dewey and Ossie Mae Burris Wright.  Rosetta retired from Cross Creek Apparel after many years of service and was a longtime and faithful member of Community Baptist Church.  She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Rhonda Parker of Mount Airy; a grandson, Adam McKenzie Parker of Mount Airy; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Rita and Howard Tucker of Pilot Mountain, Iris and Don Moore of Pulaski, VA, Paula and Dan Moore of Wytheville, VA, and June Blankenship of Ridgeway, VA; a brother, Beauford Wright of Pulaski, VA; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morrison was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Roosevelt Parker; her second husband, James Eddie Morrison; three sisters, Evon Fisher, Carol Thompson, and Helen Frye; and a brother, Pierce Wright.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Kenneth Jessup and the Rev. Joey Jessup officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017.
