Roxie Lois Darnell Hill Harrell

Mrs. Roxie Lois Darnell Hill Harrell, 86, of 194 Belton Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, January 11, 2009, at home. Mrs. Harrell was born February 19, 1922, in Moore County, to the late John Lincoln Darnell and Lois Martin Darnell Long. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Charlie Harrell of the home; three daughters and four sons-in-law, Janie and David Barker of Charlotte, and Barbara and Larry Jessup, Wanda and Roger Hunter, and Raybon Cook, all of Pilot Mountain; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Ray "Tommy" and Tonya Hill of Pilot Mountain; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother and sister-in-law, C.E. "Gene" and Irene Darnell of Greensboro. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Hill Cook; a son, James Robert Hill; and a brother, Robert Darnell. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Tommy Floyd, and burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
