Mr. Roy Bandy, Jr. age 70 of 424 Maple Hollow Road, Mount Airy, husband of Mrs. Barbara Hill Bandy, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Asheville. Mr. Bandy was born September 6, 1936 in Pulaski, VA to the late Roy Bandy, Sr. and Betty King Bandy Tullock. He was the former owner and operator of the Yellow Cab Company in Mount Airy, a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Marines. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Barbara Hill Bandy of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Patches and Paul Roberts of Lowgap; two sons and a daughters-in-law, Roy Jonathan and Margaret Bandy of Kernersville and Nathan and Rebecca Bandy, of Lowgap; four grandchildren and a spouse, Crystal Bandy of Greensboro, Ashley Bandy, Tinisha and Clifton Fitzgerald and Natasha Bandy all of Mount Airy; a great grandson, Nathaniel Fitzgerald of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Brownie Laney of Lexington; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Susie Turner of Cape Canaveral, FL and a special friend, Robert Bowers of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bandy was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Bandy and a brother, Danny Lee Tullock. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Alton Bledsoe with burial to follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2019 of Mount Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Tuesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
