Roy Thomas Brooks

Mr. Roy Thomas Brooks, age 87, of Dobson, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born August 9, 1934, in Surry County to the late Roby Glenn Brooks and the late Carrie Carolyn McCann Brooks, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Oakley Brooks; sisters, Bethel Blevins and Ollie Mayes; and his brothers, Marshall Brooks and Junior Brooks. Left to cherish his memories are his daughters and son-in-law, Gail Brooks, Rhonda and Lenard Hodges, and Lynn Brooks; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mr. Brooks loved Jesus, his family, and music. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24, 2022 , from 1-2:00 PM at Laurel Springs Baptist Church. Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the church, with Rev. Brian Pack and Rev. Blaine Oakley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family wishes to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, and special thanks to Caleb Hodges for his care of Papa.
