Roy David Busick, Jr.

Mr. Roy “David” Busick, Jr., 66, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Busick was born May 24, 1956, in Surry County, to Roy David Busick, Sr. and Patricia Shelton Busick.  David was a loving son and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.  He attended Flat Ridge Baptist Church faithfully while his health permitted.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Survivors include his mother, Patricia Shelton Busick; his uncles and aunts, Kenneth and Dot Busick, Fred and Sarah Shelton, and Alice and Jack Hill; his cousins, Vincent Willis, Tony Hall, Marie Busick Savoie, Scotty Hall, James Busick, Dale Hall, and Wayne Hill; his fellow volunteers from Yokefellow Ministries; and his fur baby, Petey.  Mr. Busick was preceded in death by his father, Roy David Busick, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Margaret Shelton; and his paternal grandparents, Monroe and Leadie Busick.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Bro. Sammy Lawson, the Rev. Dennis Bledsoe, and the Rev. Jack Danley officiating.  Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Flat Ridge Baptist Church, 504 Epworth Church Road, Cana, VA  24317; Salem United Methodist Church, 2591 Wards Gap Road, Mount Airy, NC  27030; Yokefellow Ministries of Greater Mount Airy, 461 North South Street, Mount Airy, NC  27030; or the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017.
