Roy Eugene "Gene" Gentry

Mr. Roy Eugene "Gene" Gentry, 56, of State Road, passed away unexpectedly Thursday October 5, 2006. He was born in Surry County on November 24, 1949 to Myrtle Branson Gentry and the late Early Allen Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a self employed construction worker specializing in the building of log homes. Survivors include his mother of Taylorsville, NC; a son and daughter-in-law Chris and Rhonda Gentry of Hillsville, Va.;two daughters and a son-in-law Venessa and Billy Talley and Kalien Genrty all of State Road; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law Olan and Pat Gentry of Mt. Airy. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Crestwood Memory Garden with Rev. Claude Lloyd officiating and burial to follow. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 at Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Roy Gentry Funeral Fund c/o Moody-Davis Funeral Home PO Box 295 Dobson, NC 27017.
