Roy Edward Parker

Mr. Roy Edward Parker, age 61 of Mt. Airy, husband of Janice Watson Parker passed away at his home August 14, 2006. Mr. Parker was born in Roanoke, VA, September 24, 1944 to Nonnie Mae Galyean Parker and the late Louis Douglas Parker. He was retired from R. J. Reynolds and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife Janice Watson Parker of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kem and Tommy Jessup of Westfield, NC, Tina and Terry Joyce of Mount Airy, NC, Selena and Billy Hill of King, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Amy Allen of Marshville, NC, a son and his fiancee Jason Parker and Shannon Puckett of Mt. Airy, NC; ten grandchildren; his mother, Nonnie Mae Galyean of Ararat, NC and a sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Wayne Bullin of Ararat. In addition to his father, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Parker. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy by Rev. Nancy Warner with burial to follow in the Watson family cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by Mt. Airy VFW Memorial Honor Guard 2019 and Pilot Mtn Honor Guard 9436. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
