Roy Holten Puckett

Mr. Roy Holten Puckett, 77, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 5, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital. Mr. Puckett was born March 14, 1944, in Patrick County, VA, the son of the late Walter Holland Puckett and Lila Frances Bowman Puckett Young. Roy was a self-employed painter for many years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra Kay Hodge Puckett of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Keith Fowler of Dobson; a son, Roy Eddie Puckett of the home; two grandsons, Jamie Lee Fowler of Mount Airy and Jason Levi Fowler of Dobson; a great-grandson, Kamden Lee Fowler of Mount Airy; a sister, Dorothy Puckett King Bowman of Ararat, VA; a niece, Marlene Tennyson; and two nephews, Barnell King and Johnny King. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Holland “Holly” Puckett; his stepfather, Sidney Young; two stepbrothers, Theodore Puckett and Cannon Puckett; two nieces, Dianne King Mabe and Rebecca King; and a nephew, Richard King. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 10, 2021, at 3:00 PM at King Family Cemetery, located on Homeplace Road in Ararat, VA. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dean Eaton and the Rev. George Lambert. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the cemetery. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
