Miss Ruby Lee Collins, 75, of 326 Fisher Valley Road, Dobson, passed away early Saturday morning, December 19, 2015, at her home. Miss Collins was born March 17, 1940, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Lamer Houston and Pauline Hicks Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of White Plains Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Betty Collins of Mount Airy; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Collins, Marvin and Myrna Collins, Raymond Collins, and Alvin Collins, all of Mount Airy; a special niece, Julie Garr of Dobson; and two special nephews, Daly Collins of Mount Airy and Paul Collins of Yadkinville. In addition to her parents, Miss Collins was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Burkhart; and two brothers, Mack Houston Collins and James Collins. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Tommy C. Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
