Ruby Jean Senter

Mrs. Ruby Jean Epperson Senter, age 75, of Lowgap, passed away on August 15, 2019 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born on May 24, 1944 to the late Rufus W. and Bessie King Epperson. Mrs. Senter was a long time nurse at Northern Hospital of Surry County, a member of Hope Church in Mt. Airy and also a charter member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church. She was a lady that loved to cook and loved her grandchildren. She also loved to stay on the go most of the time.  Sometimes even waking up in the middle of the night and heading to the beach.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 56 years, Tom Senter; sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk and Brooke Senter, Keith and Shannon Senter, Kevin and Tabitha Senter; grandchildren, Courtney, Levi, Alexis, Alex, Garrett, Bryce and Gracie; a great-grandchild, Adrian; sisters, Shirley Bowman and Mary Hiatt as well as many special friends. In addition to her parents Mrs. Senter was preceded in death by a sister, Alpha Ritenour; brothers, Randy, Haywood, David and Charlie Epperson.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Hope Church, in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Dr. Craig Edwards.  Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until time for the service at Hope Church 283 Belvue Drive in Mt. Airy.  The family would like to send out a special thanks to the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their care during Ruby’s stay.  In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
