Ruby G. Vaughn

        Mrs. Ruby Haden Vaughn, age 80 of Collinsville, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Patrick County on June 3, 1938 to the late William Worth Haden and Elna Pendleton Haden.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Harding Carlis “Cotton” Vaughn; two sisters, Gladys Haden Dillon and Allene Haden Harbour; and four brothers, Clyde, Earnest, Hoy and Marvin Haden.  She was of the Primitive Baptist faith and had attended Jacks Creek Primitive Baptist Church and Clearview Gospel Mission Church, loved working around the house, in her garden and with her flowers.  She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

        Mrs. Vaughn is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Ronald Deskins of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Christopher Lee Foley, Jr., Kayla Foley Biggs and husband, Michael; one great-granddaughter, Meredith Biggs; two sisters, Ruth Hylton, and Eva Vaughn, all of Stuart; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Moir and Elva Haden, and Ralph and Marjie Haden, all of Woolwine and several nieces and nephews.

        Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Susan Adkins officiating.  Burial will follow in Jacks Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
