Rufus Lee Bowman, Jr

Mr. Rufus Lee Bowman, Jr. age 79 of 1010 Pink Smith Road, Walnut Cove, NC widower of Mrs. Nellie Bond Bowman passed away Monday morning, December 4, 2006 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born March 27, 1927 in Patrick County, VA to the late Rufus Lee Bowman, Sr. and Bertie Lee Pack Bowman. He was a retired mechanic and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Lee Bowman, Sr. and Cathy, Walnut Cove, NC, a son-in-law, Rickey Bowling, Pinnacle, NC, five grandchildren, Richard Bowling, Walnut Cove, NC, Mary Bowling, Danbury, NC, Jody Bowling, King, NC, Ronnie Lee Bowman, Jr., Winston-Salem, NC, and Brian Lee Bowman, Walnut Cove, NC, 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Bowling. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Oakdale Cemetery conducted by Rev. Billie King. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home but, the family will be receiving friends anytime at the home of the son, Ronnie Lee Bowman, Sr., 3859 Hwy 89 East, Walnut Cove, NC.
