Russell Jeffery Rule

Mr. Russell Jeffery Rule, 60, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at his home. Mr. Rule was born February 25, 1957, in Surry County, one of four children born to the late Samuel Riley and Martha Jeannette Caudle Rule. Jeffery was an Eagle Scout and proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps, where he met and married his wife, Armida Hall Rule. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Alicia “Lynn” and Derek Gooch of Hickory; a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Amanda C. Rule of Hampstead; four grandchildren, Lily Jeannette Perkins and Derek Neil Gooch, Jr., both of Hickory, and Samantha Cheryl Rule and Buddy James Rule, both of Hampstead; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bess Jane and Mickey Love of Westfield and Rebecca and George Womble of Buies Creek; and a brother and sister-in-law, Samuel James and Kay Rule of Asheville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rule was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Armida Hall Rule. A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Dr. Joel Stephens officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westfield Baptist Church, 6713 Westfield Road, Westfield, NC 27053. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
