Ruth Bushnell

Ms. Ruth Alice Rakes Bushnell, age 61 of Patrick County, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, North Carolina.  She was born in Patrick County on June 19, 1959.  She was preceded in death her father, Coy Norman Rakes; and one sister, Brenda Rakes Myers.  Ruth was a member at Harvest Worship Center for many years. Ruth is survived by her mother, Mabel Gertrude Dalton Rakes; one daughter, Amanda Hylton; one grandson, Elijah Hylton (Chelsea) two great-grandchildren, Mailin Coy Hylton and Bearyn Hylton; three sisters, Sharon Mabe (Roger), Norma Goard (Tim), and Carol Hall (R.J.); and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in Rakes Family Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Harris officiating.  Ms. Bushnell will lie in state at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Thursday, May 20th from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is honored to be serving the Bushnell family; and online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.         The family of Ms. Ruth Bushnell wishes to express their sincere heartfelt appreciation to everyone for all expression of kindness, sympathy, and comfort shown during the passing of their loved one.  A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County Intensive Care Unit for the care given to Ruth.  May God richly bless you.
