Ruth Louise East Creed

Mrs. Ruth Louise East Creed, 71, of 337 Community Building Road, Pilot Mountain, passed away Thursday morning, July 28, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Creed was born March 26, 1940, in Surry County, one of twelve children born to the late Wilburn and Mary Inez McMillian East. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Bryant's Chapel Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Bobby Ring of Pilot Mountain and Tonya and Greg Priddy of Westfield; a son and his fiancée, Tony Creed and Kathy Simmons of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, Sean Creed, Brittney Wall and her husband, Shane, Brandy Tilley, Dakota Tilley, and Dustin Tilley; four great-grandchildren, Nathan Creed, Talon Wall, Camden Wall, and Shaylee Tilley; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Rachel and Donald Marion, Magdalene and Wallace Creed, Ruby George, Jewell and the Rev. Bill Faw, Billie and Mickey Bouldin, and Diane and Gary Barnes, all of Mount Airy; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Denny East of Ararat and Tommy and Jewel East of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; her father-in-law, Clayton Creed of Mount Airy; and her step-father-in-law, Otis George of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Mitchell Creed; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Mary Lina and Glenn Wall and Arvil George; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior and Kathleen East, Johnny East, and Evelyn East. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 10:00 AM at Bryant's Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Crouse and the Rev. Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Bryant's Chapel Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Bryant's Chapel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 35, Ararat, NC 27007. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
