Mrs. Ruth Bryant Davis, 83, of 1008 South South Street, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010, in Harvest, AL. Mrs. Davis was born August 19, 1926, in Surry County, daughter of the late John Astor and Ella Leftwich Bryant. Ruth retired as a beautician after many years of service and was a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly K. Lovill of Huntsville, AL, Bonnie S. and Tim Johnson of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Karen D. Myhand of Harvest, AL; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Joel B. and Beth Lovill of Hartselle, AL, Blake E. and Katrina Lovill of Huntsville, AL, Michael Johnson of Wilmington, and Amanda Myhand, Allison Myhand, Emma Grace Myhand, and Sam Myhand, all of Harvest, AL; seven great-grandchildren, Bradley Lovill, Parker Lovill, Fisher Lovill, Finley Lovill, Jacob Lovill, Skylar Lovill, and Kennedy Grace Johnson; and three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Shasta M. and Barbara Bryant of Winston-Salem, J.A. and Claudia Bryant of Mount Airy, L. Wade and Martha Bryant of Cana, VA, and Cleo Bryant of Fargo, ND. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Eli C. Davis; and two brothers, Larry Bryant and Bill Bryant. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Lester Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mont Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, P.O. Box 27, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
