Ruth Emaline Ayers Guynn

Mrs. Ruth Emaline Ayers Guynn, 72, of 38 Windmill Loop, Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Guynn was born November 29, 1937, in Carroll County, VA, the second of twelve children born to the late Harless Beamer and Lucy Mae Ayers Ayers. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cana, VA. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Leroy Jackson Guynn of the home; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Darlene and Clayton McMillian of Ararat, VA, Garlene Guynn of the home, and Theresa and Dwayne Saville and Amy and David Dalton, all of Cana, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and JoAnn Guynn of Cana, VA; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Esther A. Ayers and Juanita and David McMillian, all of Cana, VA, and Leah and Bob Metz of Whitehall, PA; seven brothers and four sisters-in-law, Melvin and Pauline Ayers, Howard and Shirley Ayers, Buford Ayers, Thomas and Susan Ayers, and Charles Ayers, all of Cana, VA, Ralph and Conelia Ayers of Dobson, and David H. Ayers of Pilot Mountain; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Guynn was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Joel Ayers. The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Allen Ashburn and the Rev. Isreal Gwyn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, and other times at the home of Amy and David Dalton, 89 Candlestick Lane, Cana, VA.
