Ruth Lennis McBride

Mrs. Ruth Lennis Duncan McBride, age 91, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Surry Health and Rehabilitation.  She was born in Patrick County on May 29, 1927 to the late George and Mary Wilson Duncan.  She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Lucille Helms and Peggy Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sally McBride, as well as eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren;, special caregiver, Kathy Gammons.  In addition to her parents Mrs. McBride was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McBride, Children Joe, Early and Donnie McBride; sisters, Sally Clement, Nancy McBride, and Kitulla “Cricket” Fultz.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Rev. Bill Watson. Burial will follow in the Unity church Cemetery in Ararat, VA.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
