Ruth Louise Pike

Miss Ruth Louise Pike, 76, of Pilot Mountain passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Central Continuing Care. She was born in Surry County on April 15, 1935 to the late William McKinley and Annie France Pike. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Lynn and David Smith of Dobson; three grandchildren, David Smith, Jr., Patricia Smith and Joseph Smith. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at New Bethel Baptist Church cemetery by Rev. Lee Johnson. The family will meet at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy at 11 AM on Thursday for a private gathering until time to depart to the cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200 Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to the Activities Department of Central Continuing Care 1287 Newsome Street Mount Airy, NC 27030. There are not enough words to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Central Continuing Care and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving compassionate care given to Ruth during her stay there.
