Ruth Elizabeth Jones Snow

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Jones Snow, 89, of 208 New Street, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born February 28, 1922, in Surry County, to the late Robert Yancy and Sarah Lou Carson Jones. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Edward and Mary Lou Snow of Mount Airy and Ronald and Gay Snow of Siloam; three grandchildren and their spouses, Mitzi and Joey Stanish of Mount Airy, Edward Jeffery Snow of Pilot Mountain, and Frederic Josh and Amy Snow of King; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Stanish, Benjamin Snow, Steven Snow, Natalie Snow, and Kyle Snow; and a sister, Mabel Hill of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snow was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bartley Snow; five brothers, Will Jones, Howard Jones, Ray Jones, Edward Jones, and Oscar Jones; and three sisters, Emma Southern, Grace Winningham, and Della Seal. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 13, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Rock Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
