Ms. Ruthie "Jean" Throckmorton Hartline Age 64 of Chattanooga, TN. and formally of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday March 2, 2011 in Mt. Airy. Ms. Hartline was born October 5, 1946 in Surry County to the late Clyde Franklin and Ruth Fulk Throckmorton, prior to her illness she was employed by Food Lion in Chattanooga. Jean was a loving mother and was a friend to all that knew her. Surviving are one son Darrell Johnson of Chattanooga, TN., three aunts Elizabeth Gates and Georgia and Donald Davis all of Mt. Airy and Ethel Martin of Tucson, AZ., two uncles Jack Throckmorton of Cana, VA. and Johnny Throckmorton of Fayetteville, NC. four nephews and two nieces, many cousins who loved her like a sister, her special companion "Bear Dog" and a host of family and special friends in Chattanooga, TN. In addition to her parents Jean was preceded in death by a son Billy Johnson, three brothers Boe Throckmorton, Jerry Throckmorton and Steve Throckmorton. Funeral services was held Saturday March 5, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy, with services conducted by Rev. Kelly and Tammy Haynes. with burial in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church cemetery fund of Wards Gap Rd. c/o Clinton Gravley 354 Hay St. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Southeast Ambulance Service and the Team for making Jean's last wish come true.
