Mrs. Ruthie Louise Love Hunter, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010, at her home after a short illness. Louise, widow of Elder Elbert Lee Hunter, was born October 19, 1921, in Westfield, to the late William Boyge Love and Ida Simmons Love. Surviving are a son, Rick Hunter of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Ginger D. Hunter of Mount Airy, Justin Gray Hunter and his wife, Julie, of Mount Airy, Brett William Hunter of Charlotte, and Cagney Layne Nichols of Mount Airy and her husband, Eric Nichols, stationed in Iraq with the United States Army; six great-grandchildren, Blake Hunter Collins, Ashley Hicks, Christopher Hicks, Joshua Hicks, Conner Nichols, and Emma Hunter; three stepgrandchildren, Donna Dotson, Tina Butcher, and Kevin Patterson; five step-great-grandchildren, Denise Arrington, Scott Dotson, Luke Butcher, Laken Patterson, and Katelyn Patterson; and a great-great-granddaughter, Karleigh Elizabeth Collins. Louise was also preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Lee Hunter and Ronnie Gearl Hunter; and a granddaughter, Dana Leigh Hunter. Louise was the last surviving sibling of nine. Her brothers were Aubrey, Theodore, Dewey, and Harsel Love; and four sisters, Nonnie Inman, Eunice Jessup, Viola Simmons, and Lorine Hunter. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Carrol Hunter; a sister-in-law, Nellie Hunter; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 4, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Elder Jimmy Joyce, Elder Eddie Lyle, and Elder Hollis Albritten. Burial will follow in the Stoney Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
