Sallie Ann Vernon Culler Cox

Mrs. Sallie Ann Vernon Culler Cox Age 85 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, February 12, 2007 at Surry Community Nursing center. Mrs. Cox was born in Rockingham County, February 28, 1921 to John and Mary Jane Mabe Vernon. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann Findley of Mt. Airy, Lucille and Junior Hamm of Ararat, VA. and Chris and Mitch Bowman of Mt. Airy, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Virginia Vernon of Vienna, VA., two nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Culler and Claron Cox, sons, Gene Culler and Eddie Culler and grandsons, James Hamm, Mark Hamm, Gary Gibbons and Larry Gibbons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Otis Goins. Burial will follow in the Culler Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all staff at Surry Community Nursing Center, especially Tim, Mary, Pam, Roxie and Casey and to Mountain Valley Hospice Staff and volunteers, for the love shown and the care given to "Granny Sallie" during her journey home.
