Sally Jane Hawks Horton

Mrs. Sally Jane Hawks Horton, 56, of 335 Rocky Ridge Road, Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born May 28, 1955, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Howard and Hazel Hawks. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Amanda Horton of Laurel Fork, VA; four grandchildren, Michaela Horton, Cody Horton, Olivia Horton, and Dylan Horton, all of Laurel Fork, VA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennie and Janice Hawks and Charles and Gail Hawks, all of Cana, VA; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kenneth Jones of Cana, VA, Cherie Horton of Riner, VA, and Linda Simon of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ray Horton. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 14, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Paul's Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Albert Everidge and Dennie Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Paul's Creek Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Horton family.
