Mrs. Sally Ann Towe Jones, 92, of Cana, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 6, 2025, at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living Facility in Walnut Cove, NC.
Mrs. Jones was born April 28, 1932, in Carroll County, VA, one of eight children born to the late William Roscoe and Mattie Frances Monday Towe.
Among Sally’s many passions was her love for flowers. Her love for tending to her flowers was a testament to her nurturing spirit and an icon of the beauty she brought into the world. She dedicated 30 years of her life to teaching in the Carroll County School System, inspiring and nurturing countless students with her passion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to their success.
Sally was a woman who lived by faith every day, demonstrating kindness and love to all she came across. Her God-fearing personality was a guiding light to those around her, and her legacy of faith will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family and friends. However, they take solace in knowing that she lived a fulfilling life. Sally’s life was a manifestation of love, and it is this love that will forever illuminate the lives she touched.
Her memories will be cherished forever by her beloved family, including her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Christine “Chris” Jones; a granddaughter, Jodie Jones Hall and her husband, Scott; her great-granddaughters, Madison Hall and Mollie Hall; her sister, June Cooke; her brother, Johnny Towe; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie J. Jones; her beloved son, Andrew Lee “Andy” Jones; four sisters, Mabel Barnard, Mary Smith Berrier, Gaye McGinn, and Tonia Goad; and her brother, Tom Towe.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, NC, with the Rev. Justin McCreary and the Rev. Ashley Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery in Cana, VA. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
