Sally Olivia (Kline) Hannah, 81, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Shenandoah House in Fishersville.

Mrs. Hannah was born in Baltimore, MD on November 9, 1940, the daughter of the late Milton A. and Evelyn (Anderson) Kline. She grew up in Towson, MD and graduated from Towson Senior High at the age of 16.

Sally is most recently a member of Harrisonburg Baptist Church, but; was also a member of the churches that her husband pastored: Pleasant View Baptist, Patrick Springs, VA, Laurel Hill Baptist, Verona, VA and Antioch Baptist (now Merritt Park Community), Dundalk MD. She was active in WMU and served as Associational WMU director in Augusta and Blue Ridge Baptist Associations.

Sally co-authored several books with her husband including histories for Laurel Hill Baptist, Greenville Baptist, Blue Ridge Baptist Association, and Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative. She and her husband were awarded the Carolyn Blevins Award for Meritorious Service by the Baptist History and Heritage Society in 2009.

Sally retired from Patrick County Department of Social Services, having worked with the Energy Assistance Program. Prior to moving to Patrick County, she worked as the financial secretary for First Baptist Church of Waynesboro VA, and Smith’s Transfer in Verona VA.

She and Wayne enjoyed traveling and visited 49 states only lacking Alaska for the complete 50.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Holsinger.

Sally is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Wayne Darnell Hannah, of Staunton, a daughter, Darlene (Tom) Hoar of Oxford, MS, a son, Wayne (Melody) Hannah of Mount Sidney; a sister Penelope (Charles) Miller of Plymouth, MA; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held with Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at a later date.
