Sammy Bryan Ashburn

Mr. Sammy Bryan Ashburn, 72, of Mt. Airy, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born in Surry County, December 24, 1948, to the late Everett Bryan and Kathryn Ellen McKnight Ashburn. Mr. Ashburn was a loving and devoted husband, father, and pa. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren, appreciating every moment he had with his family. He was a kind, goodhearted man that was always more concerned for others than himself. Mr. Ashburn loved trucks and was fortunate to have a job that he enjoyed. He drove for Smith Trucking for many years. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of almost 43 years, Deborah Palmer Ashburn; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Sendy Ashburn, Samuel and Jessica Ashburn; grandchildren, Shealin Ashburn Mills, Kristian, Savannah, and Bella Ashburn, and Audree Edwards; great grandchildren, Kenley, and Brynn Mills, and Easton Ashburn; a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Sammy Lee Collins; nephews, Dalton, and Parker Collins. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scotty Bullins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
