Samona Creasy

Ms. Samona Faye Hodges Creasy, 65, of Mount Airy, passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, March 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Raleigh County, WV on March 8, 1955 to the late Walter Edgar Hodges and Grace Belle Garretson Hodges.  Ms. Creasy was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery after many years of service.  Left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Stephen Walter “Winchie” Sumner and husband Masa Yamakawa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol Simmons, Lupe Dickerson, Lolita Whitaker, Margaret and Douglas McMillian, Ila and Jay Cecil, and Becky Hodges; a brother, Joe “ Pepe” Salgado; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Creasy was preceded in death by a sister, Delfina Theimer; and two brothers, Serafin “Nanny” Salgado, and Frankie Salgado.  Per Ms. Creasy's wishes there will not be any formal services.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Creasy family.   To send flowers to Samona's family, please visit our floral store.
