Samuel John Blevins

Mr. Samuel John Blevins, 67, devoted husband of Joyce McCraw Blevins, of Holden Beach, NC, passed away at his home on Saturday March 10, 2007 after an extended illness. He was born in Surry County on September 16, 1939 to the late James and Elsie Lou McCann Blevins. Mr. Blevins was a member of Central View Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Surviving are his loving wife, Joyce McCraw Blevins of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Mari and Brian Seal of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law Mark and Lisa Blevins of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, Marty Puckett of Washington, DC, Patrick Blevins, Cheyenne Seal and Savannah Seal all of Mt. Airy; a sister, Fern Hinson of Dobson; a brother and sister-in-law Bert and Sylvia Blevins of Dobson; his beloved pets, "Scotter" and "Shena". In addition to his parents, Mr. Blevins was preceded in death by a son, Marty Blevins. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 13, 2007 at Central View Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Van Brindle officiating and burial to follow. The family will receive friends after the graveside service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Surry County Animal Shelter 118 Hamby Road Dobson, NC 27017.
