Mr. Samuel Wayman “Sam” Huff, 58, of Cana, VA, passed away Friday afternoon, September 8, 2023, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA. Mr. Huff was born July 12, 1965, in Washington, DC, the son of the late Joe Huff and JoAnn Liddle Huff. Sam was a Christian man, who loved God and taught his family to do the same. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he loved everyone in his circle unconditionally. His passion for his family led to many adventures through the years with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Sam also had a large hunting family that he cherished and loved watching their accomplishments. The memories he has made with his family and friends will be cherished in their hearts forever. He will be forever loved and greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Penny Leftwich Huff of the home; his children, Dustin and Tiffany Huff of Cana, VA, Andrew Huff of Asheville, and Lauren and Blake East of Clemmons; three precious grandchildren, Samantha Lee Huff and William Boyd Huff, both of Cana, VA, and Amelia Jake East of Clemmons; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jane and Anthony Rose of Coeburn, VA, and Verna Taylor of Morgantown, WV; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sheila Huff of Sparta; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Vaughn Easter of Mount Airy; his sisters-in-law, Robin Leftwich and Rachel Juren, and Brigette Easter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Huff was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Huff Bennett. A service of worship and celebration of Sam’s life will be held Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Sechrist, Robert Huff, and Steven Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
