Samuel Wesley Hunter

Mr. Samuel Wesley Hunter, age 66 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Hunter was born in Surry County, December 13, 1940 to the late John Wesley and Ola Mae Samuel Hunter. He was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge. Surviving is his wife, Shelby Ayers Council Hunter of Mt. Airy; a daughter, Delores "Dedee" Hartman, and her husband Raleigh "Buddy" Hartman of Kernersville; Bridgette Leigh Council and her husband Troy Council of Mt. Airy; two step-sons, Wayne Council of Rocky Mount and Troy Carlton Council of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren; Corey Hunter Council, Courtney Lynn Council, Ashley Marie Council, Carlton James Council and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Max Hunter and wife Suzanne of Mt. Airy, and Mary Leigh Hunter of Pilot Mtn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Hunter. Memorial services will be held at Bannertown Baptist Church on Sunday October 28, 2007 at 3:00PM conducted by Rev David Allred.
