Sandra Kaye Everhart

Ms. Sandra Kaye Everhart, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning, January 22, 2022, at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Surry County on March 6, 1943, to the late Joe Taylor Everhart and Lillian Irene Joyce Everhart. She was a selfless and dedicated mother, a loving grandmother (and great grandmother!), a kind friend and a caretaker to many lucky cats. Left to cherish her memory are a granddaughter, Megan Vaughn and husband Tyler; a grandson, Mike Shelton and wife Olivia; great-grandchildren, Harper Shelton, Jackson Shelton, and Joanna Vaughn; special nieces and a special nephew, Steffni Westmoreland, Angela Westmoreland, and Tim Westmoreland; three very special friends, Gina Button, Donna Hayes, and Mary Sue Dawson; and many other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Kaye was preceded in death by her only son, Michael Joseph Shelton; and her two sisters, Pansy Everhart Westmoreland and Peggy Everhart Keenan. A service of worship and celebration will be held for family and close friends of Kaye. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Everhart family.
