Sandra Kay Midkiff Gunter

Mrs. Sandra Kay Midkiff Gunter, age 56 of Mt. Airy, wife of Mr. Michael Gunter, Sr. passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Gunter was born in Surry County, April 2, 1951 to Maggie Nelson Midkiff and the late Raymond Midkiff, she was retired from Pine State Knitwear and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband Michael Gunter, Sr. of the home, one daughter Katie Wood of the home, three sons and daughter-in-law Michael Gunter, Jr. and wife Amy of Seymour, TN. David Wayne Gunter and Charlie Raymond Gunter both of Mt. Airy, three grandchildren Michaela Gunter, Grayson Gunter and Walker Gunter all of Seymour, TN., her mother Maggie Nelson Midkiff of Mt. Airy, two step grandchildren Josh Engle of Mt. Airy and Cassie Nelson of Yadkinville, Four sisters and brother-in-law Guida Midkiff and special friend Leon Cook and Debbie Midkiff both of Mt. Airy, Mary Ann Midkiff of Galax and Opal and William Jones of Dobson and three brothers and sister-in-law Joe Midkiff of Rosman, NC., Lonnie and Wanda Midkiff and Mike Midkiff all of Mt. Airy. In addition to her father Mrs. Gunter was preceded in death by a sister Carol Reece and by three brothers Jerry Midkiff, Jimmy Midkiff and Johnny Midkiff. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 24, 2007 at 11:00 A.M at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Bud Cameron with burial to follow in the Nelson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night 7 to 9 PM. at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, N.C.
