Sandra Kay Martin Amburn

Ms. Sandra Kay Martin Amburn, age 70 of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Patrick County, Virginia on October 10, 1953, to the late Arthur Norman Martin and Frances “Peggy” Wright Martin.  Sandra had worked for Food Lion on Brookdale Street in Martinsville for over 40 years.  She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, and collecting penguin figurines. She adored her daughter and grandchildren.  She was the best person in the world and loved by everyone.

Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Brent Whitlow of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren, Allie and A.J. Whitlow; special cousins, Rhonda Wright, Donita Thompson both of Martinsville, Carol Sue Wright of Bassett, Dave Wolfe of Jacksonville, NC; special friends, Dreama Gibbons, Joy Vaughan, Libby Cornwell, Nancy Newton, Lucy Hairston; and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Bud Sedwick officiating.  Burial will follow in Goblintown Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
