Mr. Sandy Aaron Brintle, 62, of 415 Culbert Street, Mount Airy, left this life on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Brintle was born October 26, 1945, in Surry County, to James Aaron Brintle and the late Susan Alma Beasley Brintle. Sandy graduated from Mount Airy High School in 1964. He served aboard the USS Palm Beach in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from January 1966 until December 1969. Mr. Brintle worked for Xerox Corporation for 25 years and later owned and operated Brintle and Brintle Wholesale. Sandy served as chairman of the board of directors for The Children's Center of Surry for the past 10 years and was currently serving as chairman of the Human Resources Committee. Sandy also served as chairman of Precinct One of the Democratic Party of Surry County. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Vicky Goad Brintle of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Kathy Brintle of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Jessica Brintle, Ryan Gury, Ashley Brintle, Kirstie Brintle, and Isabel Vazquez, all of Raleigh; his father, James Aaron Brintle of Mount Airy; and a sister, Aloma Brintle Sibley of Decatur, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. A service to celebrate the life of Sandy will be held Sunday, April 13, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Linda Blessing officiating. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Children's Center of Surry (www.surrychildren.com), P.O. Box 692, Dobson, NC 27017.
