Sandy Brookshire

Sandra “Sandy” Parkes Brookshire, 57, of Lowgap, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Sandy was born in Winston-Salem on October 18, 1960 and is survived by her sisters, Patricia Shue and Debra Parkes Joyce and her brothers, Robert Parkes, Harvey Parkes, and Charles Parkes, as well as her two sons, Kevin Brookshire and Donald Brookshire Jr. Sandy is also survived by her good friend, Earl Hoggart and the wonderful people at Continuing Care of Mt Airy. Sandy was an incredible mother and sister and a truly selfless person who loved to put smiles on others faces. Her loves in life were children, family, fishing, and helping others who needed a hand. Sandy was a lady who would give her last dollar to help out a family member or friend, and in many cases, a stranger in need. She worked most notably at Goody’s Mfg. for 11 years. There will be a memorial service on Friday December 1, 2017 at 1:30pm at the Round Peak Masonic Lodge, 825 Old Low Gap Rd, Mt Airy NC 27030. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sandy’s honor to the Salvation Army.
