Santos Alvarado

Mr. Santos Gil Alvarado, 56, of Dobson, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday February 25, 2008
while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bexar County, Texas on October 24, 1951 to the late Ernesto G. and Rosa Gil Alvarado. He was formerly employed by Mendez Construction Company and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Survivors include three sisters, Rosa Maria Jimenez, with whom he made his home, of Dobson, Rebecca Segura of Texas and Candy Bustamante of Dobson; two brothers, Ernesto G. and wife Aurora Alvarado of Texas and Ramiro G. Alvarado of Dobson; a special niece, Rosa Jimenez also of Dobson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Alvarado was preceded in death by a sister Catalina J. Lopez. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Boonville with Father Jose Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. An all night vigil will be held at the church on Tuesday evening where his body will remain until time for the Funeral Mass. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes be made to family c/o Rosa Jimenez P.O. Box 193 Dobson, NC 27107 to assist on the funeral expenses. Special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Bowling and staff and Northern Hospital of Surry County for the compassionate care given to Mr. Alvarado during his illness.
